Special Events

Excursions

Each year we plan several excursions with the children. Full day excursions can include visiting the zoo, museums, galleries, the forest, and swimming. Half-day events may involve going to a play, visiting a farm, playgrounds, visiting the city, ice-skating and going to the library. Outings are often coordinated to relate to a theme that the children are currently studying.

Theater producion/concert*

Once a year a show/theatre performance is arranged so children will present what they have learnt. They will demonstrate things they have done, talk about a subject, sing songs, act in a play and many other things.

Turnip Parade / Carnival*

Each year Day Care and Pre-School combine and invite families to take part in a procession throughout the nearby streets and all are invited to an Apero afterwards.

*This is subject to change and another event may replace this in alternate years.

Parent - teacher interview

Once a year parents meet with the teachers to discuss the progress of their child. The meetings take place at a convenient time at school and do not last more than 1 hour.

Parent evening

At the start of the academic year parents are invited to attend a Parent Evening that is presented by the class teacher/s. During this event the parents get to meet the staff and other parents as well as receive information about the plans for the class.

Social Event

In the summer Wings School families are invited to attend a BBQ/ Brunch/ Apero. This allows staff and families to meet on a social level.
